In this episode of Abby Chat Slot, I spoke with Dr Aysha Khalid, Senior Design Lead at Cision, D&AD judge, PhD researcher, and founder of the wellness brand Sol & Flex, about her journey navigating creativity, entrepreneurship, and wellness.
From Academia to Creative Leadership
Aysha’s career spans nearly two decades in the creative industry. Alongside her academic achievements, including a PhD in Arabic typography, she has shaped her career with a focus on authenticity and authority. Her work at Cision and her founding of Sol & Flex showcase her ability to blend creative leadership with meaningful impact in wellness.
Challenging Stereotypes in Wellness
One of the key themes of our conversation is representation. In a space often dominated by narrow body ideals and racialised stereotypes, Aysha is creating a platform that is inclusive and empowering.
